Le Clos des Pélissous is a group of three restored Périgourdine farm cottages situated in the hamlet of Les Pélissous, approximately 8 kms to the north east of Bergerac in the Perigord Pourpre (or Purple Perigord, the colour of the fine red wines of the Bergerac region).
Nestling on a hillside overlooking the valley of the Caudeau, a small tributary of the Dordogne river which it joins just downstream of Bergerac, the Clos des Pélissous offers quiet and relaxation in fine countryside, but with the advantage of being situated at a cross roads offering easy access in all directions.
To the East lie Sarlat and the many beauty spots of the Perigord Noir and to the West are St Emilion and the vineyards of the Bordeaux region.
To the South are the "bastide" towns and castles dating from the Hundred Years' War and to the North, Périgueux, with its Roman and gallo-Roman vestiges and the medieval streets.
Nearer at hand is Bergerac, a lively town with its colourful twice weekly market, its open air concerts and street animations in the summer season.
A large hypermarket, numerous supermarkets and many town centre shops in "le vieux Bergerac" offer the opportunity for shopping and souvenir hunting.
The vineyards of Pécharmant and Monbazillac are nearby and the wine growers most hospitable! Numerous restaurants and "fermes auberges" in Bergerac and in the surrounding countryside offer a wide selection of French and international cuisine.
